You do not need a boating license. According to the new CA Boater Card law a person operating a rental vessel is exempt from needing a boater card. We do require a valid driver’s license in order to rent a boat with LS Boat Rentals. On your rental day, we will show you where all of the required safety equipment is located, and ensure one person can demonstrate safe boating practices. We also encourage you to look through the boating safe use and operation rules provided in the rental agreement before your rental day.
